For Troop 55, September is all about inviting more people into the troop. With that in mind, September is also the best time to check us out, because our meetings and campouts are geared more towards people interested in our troop.

Feel free reach out to us via email if you want to attend an event or have any other questions.

The girls' troop consists of the Bluebird (11-12) Hummingbird (Ages 12-14), Owl (ages 15-16) & Phoenix (ages 16-17) patrols. Our boys' troop consists of the Osprey (11-12), Kestrel (ages 12-14) & Falcon (ages 14-16) patrols. We continue to add patrols as the troop grows and ages. All in all, we have about 50 youth.

Troop 55 attended its first in-person summer camp at Camp Keowa in 2021! We have also sent 3 crews to Philmont in 2022 and 2024. So short answer: yes.

As in the Scout Law, a scout is helpful, courteous, and kind. We make sure to be inclusive of all scouts, which includes accommodating those with special needs.

  • When camping or on other adventures, allergies are addressed thoroughly.
  • Scouts with autoimmune conditions are given a safe environment to interact with others.
  • Those with invisible disabilities or learning challenges are treated with kindness and respect, and are able to advance at their own unique pace.
  • Youth with physical disabilities are accommodated according to their individual ability.

Most of our service happens through our charter organization, West End Collegiate Church. During COVID we  helped the church by continually volunteering at their Community Fridge in order to help those in need . Some of our scouts also research and participate in external service projects. We also have opportunities to participate in Eagle Service Projects, which are led by our own scouts, and benefit the nearby communities.
